Home Hunting (and a GIVEAWAY!)
9:09 PMWell, here we are, less than a week from my last post when I announced that we were officially home hunting, and WE BOUGHT A HOUSE! It all happened so super fast, I can't even believe it.
Last weekend, the warm weather dragged us and the girls out for the whole day on Saturday. After a trip to Target, we loaded the ladies back into the car and set out to look at houses. Our expectations were low - our budget under $400K. We wanted 3 bedrooms, 2 toilets, and counter space in the kitchen. We fully expected to purchase a "fixer-upper" and work on it all summer.
In LOVE with their "house hunting" outfits!
After seeing 4 houses, we were discussing putting an offer in on one such fixer-upper. I wasn't quite convinced about it. It had a beautiful, huge backyard, but it was on a main road, and I couldn't get past the noise of the road in the bedrooms.
The next morning, I signed on to the multiple listing service, and found a few houses that I was interested in. I emailed them to my mother, who is a real estate agent, and asked what she could tell me about them. Of the 5 houses that I sent to her, only one had just been listed the day before and was still available. We made an appointment to see it later that day.
When they say, "When you find the right house, you just know," they aren't kidding. As soon as I walked in the front door, I knew that we were home. We put in an offer a couple of hours later, and after considering the seller's counteroffer, we said YES and moved into attorney review.
We are now anxiously gathering the documentation for the mortgage company, and awaiting our home inspection. The house is perfect for us. It is a split level, with 3 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, a beautiful living room, dining room, and updated kitchen on the main floor, a mudroom and bathroom on the lower level, and a full finished basement (aka Hershey's man cave). There is an attached garage, and a deck off of the back of the house leading to a spacious, gorgeous backyard. I can't wait to post pics!
In the midst of all of this excitement, I was surprised to find some goodies for the girls in my mailbox this week! It's been a while since we got them some new swag, so when I got these adorable packages in the mail, I couldn't wait to share them with Jane and Emma.
GooseWaddle is an amazing company. Not only is their mascot TOTES ADORBS, but their blankets are super duper soft, and for every blanket that is purchased, they provide a child in need with a soft and fuzzy blankie (what Jane and Emma call a "wooby"). How could you NOT love this company??!
Here's the best part: GooseWaddle is giving away one blanket and blankie (you choose the color) to one lucky reader! All you have to do is enter below!
a Rafflecopter giveaway
I hope that everyone has a WONDERFUL week! I'll post pics of the new house ASAP!
xoxo
